Accessibility
Last reviewed October 12, 2026
We want everyone to be able to plan a getaway with this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, starts with a "Skip to content" link, and shows a clear outline on the focused item.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and lists so screen readers can move around them, and the page language is set.
- Images have text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG contrast levels, and pages reflow on narrow screens and at 200% zoom without sideways scrolling.
- Filters say whether they're on, and results that change (like the number of getaways) are announced.
- Badges that open on hover also open with a tap, click, Enter or Space, and close with Escape.
- Animations are turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Links that open a new tab say so to screen readers.
- We test pages with the axe accessibility checker and by keyboard, and fix what we find.
Known limitations
- The map of places to stay comes from Stay22 and may be hard to use with a screen reader. The "Hotels and inns" and "Cabins and rentals" buttons next to it open the same search as a regular page.
- Booking sites, stores and other sites we link to are run by others, and their accessibility is up to them.
