KnotStranded LLC ("we", "us") runs KS Getaway (getaway.knotstranded.com), a free guide to weekend getaways. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, who collects it, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: hello@knotstranded.com or knotstranded@gmail.com.

The short version
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or forms. We don't ask for your name, email address or location.
- We don't sell your personal information for money and we don't build profiles of visitors.
- We earn commissions when you book or buy through some links. Our partners use cookies or similar tools to know a booking or purchase came from us. You can turn their tracking scripts off on this site (your privacy choices), and we turn them off for you if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked before partner tracking scripts load.
What is collected
When you visit
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and basic request details (pages requested, browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and reports totals, not individual visitors.
Saved on your device
The site remembers a few choices in your browser's local storage, not in cookies, and never sends them to us: the store you picked for packing lists, who's coming on the trip, and your privacy choice. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
When you email us
We use your email address and message to reply, and keep the conversation for up to two years unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
What we don't collect
We don't collect payment details (bookings and purchases happen on the partner's site), precise location, or sensitive personal information.
Partners and other services
Some features load content from other services directly into your browser. They receive your IP address and the page you're on, and each handles data under its own privacy policy.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site. The store, booking site or affiliate network (for example Amazon, Walmart, Target, REI, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Sportsman's Warehouse, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Viator, GetYourGuide, Ticketmaster, OpenTable, Stay22, Impact, CJ or AvantLink) may set cookies on its own site to credit the sale to us. Your privacy choices
Under California law, letting partners track that a visit came from us can count as "sharing" personal information for advertising. You can opt out of that sharing here. Turning partner tracking off doesn't change anything you see; we may just not be credited for bookings.

Your rights
California residents
You have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We don't sell personal information for money and don't use or disclose sensitive personal information. Because we keep almost nothing about visitors, most requests will concern emails you sent us. Send requests to hello@knotstranded.com or knotstranded@gmail.com; you can also have an authorized agent ask for you. We may ask you to confirm a detail so we know the request is yours, and we'll reply within 45 days.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
We rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for hosting, visit counts and the weather, alert and event lookups, and on your consent for partner tracking scripts. You can withdraw consent at any time under your privacy choices. You may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@knotstranded.com or knotstranded@gmail.com, and you can complain to your data protection authority. The services above may process data in the United States.

Wherever you live, you can email us to ask what we have about you or to delete it.
Children
The site is for adults planning trips. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. We don't sell or share personal information of anyone we know is under 16. If you believe a child sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security and changes
The site is served only over HTTPS. No method of sending or storing data is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll note it on the home page.
