Las Vegas does Thanksgiving well. The holiday displays are already up, buffets and restaurants run special menus, and you don't need to cook or clean. The week before the holiday can also be surprisingly affordable. Getting there from Southern California
Drivers take I-15 north through the Mojave Desert. Holiday-weekend traffic can be heavy in both directions, so plan your return time. Flying into Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) from LAX, Burbank or Ontario is a short hop. Remember that parking isn't always free at Strip hotels (details below).

1. Bellagio: holiday conservatory central
Bellagio's free Conservatory & Botanical Gardens (14,000 sq ft, next to the lobby) switches to its Holiday display on Saturday, Nov 14, 2026, and keeps it up through Jan 2, 2027. Bellagio notes those dates can change. The garden closes Nov 8–13 for the changeover, so a Thanksgiving trip lands squarely on the holiday version. Out front, the free Fountains of Bellagio usually run every half hour from the afternoon until midnight, and are canceled in high winds. Other highlights are the five-pool courtyard and Cirque du Soleil's "O".

2. Fontainebleau Las Vegas: skate on the Strip
Opened in December 2023 on the north Strip. The Oasis Ice Rink returns Nov 19 on the third-floor pool deck, billed as the largest real-ice rink on the Strip. Entry is free and skating starts at $30 plus taxes and fees. Holiday movie nights run Tuesdays from Nov 24 to Dec 29. The resort has seven pools, LIV nightclub and a Vegas Loop station, and guests get free self-parking.
Downside: it's a long walk to the center Strip.

3. The Cosmopolitan: terraces and an indoor walk to Bellagio
